The next Woman to be featured in my Women’s History Month Empowerment series is Malikah Ali. I met this sister nearly a decade ago and was inspired by her knowledge of, and passion for, health and healing amongst Black people. She’s brilliant and committed to being her best so that she can assist others in being their best.

Read her bio below;

Malikah Ali, LCSW, CHHC, is a psychotherapist and a certified holistic health consultant. She was personally taught and trained by the world renowned doctor of naturopathy, Dr. Llaila O. Afrika. In addition to her holistic health certification, she is a graduate of Temple University and also holds an Ivy League master’s degree from Bryn Mawr College/University of Pennsylvania in social work-clinical therapy. With a strong focus on prevention, her mission is to help clients attain Supreme Health by improving the function of the mind, body and spirit through an integrated, holistic healing approach. Her passion for holistic health started 22 years ago when she personally transitioned to a plant-based diet and began her education in herbal treatment.

This sister is flat out incredible. As we’ve been friends for a while now, what I find to be even more amazing than her knowledge regarding health, is how she engages with her supporters. Online, she’s constantly sharing information and encouraging people to be their best. That’s what really inspires me about Malikah. Anybody can attain the knowledge, but it takes special people to be symbols of hope, conduits for supreme health, and beacons of light. Malikah is definitely one of those people.

Here, read this quote of hers;

“If you’re in fear that you’re going to get sick, guess what? You’re already sick! Fear and paranoia is a sickness in and of itself and it opens the proverbial door for dis-ease to enter the body! Keep your mental health in order, think positively, express gratitude so that you will have a proper environment for wellness. Be kind to your mind, eat plants, drink herbal tonics, eat one meal a day and stay active.”

It is messages like that, that can be found all throughout her social media. It’s also messages like that, that we all need.

Malikah, dear sister, thank you for your many contributions to humanity, and to the rich legacy of Black Women in America and throughout the diaspora. We acknowledge you, we celebrate you, and we support you. Keep going!
